MR. COLOREDWELL'S WEEKLY SPORTS FASHION REPORT

Notes taken during the week, presented in no particular order...

WANTED: FOR CRIMES AGAINST ORANGE
Cincinnati Bengals, Boise State Broncos, Miami Hurricanes, Texas Longhorns
All these teams should be forced by whatever legal means possible to stop using orange as one of their colors. They just plain don't know how to use it. The 'Canes went the extra disgusting mile and threw in some green scaly shit. I would add Bowling Green to this group, but they were still dressed better than Toledo. I also would have added Virginia for their leaky ink pen look, but they managed a win over Boston College's ugly numbers.

The Georgia State Panthers made their national HD debut last week, and I wanted so much to give them a favorable rating for the sake of Noelomite, a friend of the Duck Pond who works there, but it was not to be. Their colors are nice, but their crappy number font was no match for 'Bama's block numbers.

Iowa at Ohio State was last year's best uniform matchup, with the Buckeyes winning at home in scarlet. Iowa hosted this year in their home black/gold 70s Steeler look and turned the tables, resulting in the first OSU uni loss ever. How to top themselves next year? How about an all-throwback match?

The Burgundyskins finally went with a white jersey-yellow pants combo, and with the burgundy socks they had their own version of the Jello 123 look going. Very nice.

The Washington Huskies went all black this week. Oh puh-leeze. And with dark purple numbers? WTF?

Purdue looks good in white jerseys and gold pants. Not as good as the Saints, but good.

We got our first look at Yale and Harvard this week, and Harvard has a very nice look, good colors and style. Yale? Yawn. The Elis look like the boring love child of Penn State and BYU. ZZZZZZZZ...

Notre Dame finally went green! You're the IRISH, for crying out loud, stick to the green!!!

Iowa State looked interesting this week, yellow jerseys and maroon pants. Like USC upside-down. In fact, they almost looked kind of like the Broncos throwbacks, but without the fun socks.

The Minnesota Wild...What happened? They looked so good a couple of weeks ago in the all green with the wheat numbers and trim. What's with the crappy white/dark green look with the shitty red numbers? And don't tell me the green/wheat unis were throwbacks. The team hasn't been in existence long enough to have throwbacks!

Finally got a look at the Tampa Bay Lightning. All black, but it worked well enough to beat Boston. As for their logo, it's a bit Toledo Storm-y, but good. And I like the bolts down the legs, very Charger-esque.

Also finally got a look at the Dallas Mavericks. In all white with, what, half a black belt? What is that?

And finally, we've seen all the FBS teams in HD this year except New Mexico State. Somebody please carry a game of theirs in HD before the season ends!

NEXT WEEK'S BEST UNIFORM MATCHUPS
New Orleans at Dallas: I'll be thankful if the Saints wear gold pants, but will they outshine the metallic blue? Shiny!
Auburn at Alabama: They call this the Iron Bowl, so I'd better not see any wrinkles!
And, of course, Michigan at Ohio State: Oh, who are we kidding? This one is a total mismatch! Go Bucks!

FRANK GILHOOLEY
1924-2010

There is no joy in Mudville on this day. Toledo broadcast legend and long-time Mud Hens announcer Frank Gilhooley has passed away at the age of 86.

Gilhooley worked as a radio broadcaster for 24 years with the Toledo Mud Hens. A legend in Toledo broadcasting, he had over 50 years of experience in television and radio.

Gilhooley previously served as the sports director at WTVG-TV 13 along with announcing several Ohio State football games. He also has the distinction of playing for the legendary Toledo Jeeps, when Gilhooley traveled with the Harlem Globetrotters for two years as a member of the opposing team.

A native of Toledo, Gilhooley played both baseball and basketball at the University of Notre Dame. Gilhooley's father, Frank Sr., played with the New York Yankees from 1913-18 and was a teammate of legendary slugger Babe Ruth in Boston.

MR. COLOREDWELL'S WEEKLY SPORTS FASHION REPORT

I trust nobody will mind if the report is a day early this week...

More throwback fun in the NFL this week. I love the Bears' bold burnt orange numbers, the Steelers throwbacks are always a primetime treat, and even Atlanta looked good. Plus the Burgundyskins went with their yummy yellow pants Monday. The Vikings wore purple pants again this week, but the pretty purple is still ruined by Vikey-spooge.

In college football, Brown's unis look good, but there's no brand logo in sight, so I have no idea who makes them. In any case, they looked better than Dartmouth, with their Nike-spooge and the D on the front of their helmets. Really? On the front? Really? And California went all yellow and still won. How? Simple: they were playing Oregon.

In the NHL, we got our first official HD look at St Louis and Montreal this week. Both great, though the Habs got beat by Philly's awesome orange. Meanwhile, the Red Wings still look great, and Colorado still looks like shit.

Finally, in the NBA, I'm still split on the Pistons, the Spurs and Nuggets unis still look good, the Clippers and Wizards unis still look like crap, and Miami is still evil. Oh, and Utah is atop the standings.

Utah?!?

MR. COLOREDWELL'S WEEKLY SPORTS FASHION REPORT

Winners: Throwbacks rule! Which is too bad for the Red Wings, who got beat by stylish Calgary and Vancouver throwbacks. And the Indy Colts whipped out their fabulous 50s unis.

Losers: Princeton continues to copy Michigan's hideous helmets, and the Utes sported some sort of camo-puke spooge.

Football teams wearing all one dark color usually doesn't work, as Oregon, Seattle and the Bengals clearly demonstrate. But a couple of NFL teams won this way, one deserving, one not. Houston in all dark blue? Somehow, they make it work. Minnesota in all purple? Well, they only beat equally-spoogy Arizona on color.

As for college basketball, I'm sorry, but the regular season schedule is just too overwhelming. We'll just have to wait until March Madness to get into that.

MR. COLOREDWELL'S WEEKLY SPORTS FASHION REPORT

Notes from the past 7 days in sports fashions...

The World Series is over and not a moment too soon. What a yawnfest! San Francisco was the better-dressed team in all 5 games, but each game was all-white v all-grey, so who cares?

In the NBA, no team is blowing me away yet, but there are a couple of stinky unis. Washington lost to Orlando by wearing black and teal, but then Orlando's side-spooge gave a win to the despised Miami Heat. And the Pistons badly need to go back to the Bad Boys look.

In the NHL, Detroit is much better-dressed. But the team that caught my eye this week was Minnesota, sporting a very light, pastel gold trim they are calling 'Minnesota Wheat', which nicely compliments a clean, all-green look.

And in the NFL, the St Louis Rams and New England Cheaters both sported fabulous throwbacks!

PICS OF THE WEEK: THROWBACKS!

Finally, some notes from college football...

Mississippi dressed like a road team in the World Series, all-grey, like the Geno cult. But somehow they made it work. The light is grey, follow the path!

"Shiny!": UCLA in light blue and gold, Kent State's flashy pants, and Tennessee's orange pants were shiny AND juicy! Delicious!

Washington continues to do purple wrong, Wyoming went all brown with pink socks, a horrible combo, and as for Florida, what is the point of having that odd shit on your shoulders and knees if nobody can tell what the heck it is?

Finally, due to a power failure, all the stadium lights went out during the North Carolina A&T v Bethune-Cookman game. And as bad as both teams were dressed, I wish the lights would have STAYED out!

Next week: College basketball season begins!

MR. COLOREDWELL'S SPORTS FASHION REPORT

Hi there! Boy is my plate full...all 4 of the major pro sports in action, plus college gridders, and college cagers not far off. Time for me to combine them all in one big sweaty weekly recap.

THIS WEEK'S FASHION HIGHLIGHTS:

* We got our first official look at Syracuse in HD, with their lovely orange pants, reminiscent of the old Browns look. The Orange do orange right!

* Clemson wore a fabulous combo this week, purple jerseys and orange pants. They do purple AND orange right!

Pic Of The Week: Clemson's cute color combo

* You didn't think I forgot hockey, did you? Worry not, Mr. C has been keeping track, and the champs in Chicago are looking splendid as ever, as are the Red Wings, Flyers, and Bruins, all sporting solid classic unis.

* And the NBA began their season last night, with the Celtics and Lakers still frontrunners in fashion, although the Houston Rockets certainly had an interesting color combo, all rocket red with silver trim.

THIS WEEK'S FASHION LOWLIGHTS:

* The Chargers are still eschewing light blue for dark blue, and against the N.E. Cheaters I almost couldn't tell the teams apart. How sad.

* The Oregon Ducks wore yet another disastrous color combo last week, this time yellow jerseys with black pants, and still have that horrible number font that looks like it was designed by the same crayon-wielding 'learning-impaired' 5-year-old who designed the old Toledo Storm logo.

* The Cincinnati Bearcats also tried an alternate color combo, red jerseys with black pants, but nothing works given their fundamentally-flawed design.

* Another game where it was hard to tell the teams apart: Notre Dame v Navy. Copy each other much?

* The Hoosiers out-uglied the Illini in a spooge-fest, thanks to what looks like duct tape on the back of their red pants.

* Drapes matching the carpet is okay, but not your football uniform, Boise State! Tom Thayer was right when he called that the biggest cheat in sports. I wouldn't mind so much if it were a pretty blue. It's not. It always looks like it just rained there. And when it DOES rain it looks even worse!

* Meanwhile, in the baseball playoffs, the unis worn during the ALCS and NLCS were just as boring as the sport itself. Except for Game 1 when Texas wore red jerseys, it was all white and grey, with occasional pinstripes. Yawn! Safe to say in the WS, San Fran will be the better-dressed team. Let's just hope they break out their delicious creamsicle look!

* In the NHL, the Colorado Avalanche sport both shitty colors and shitty numbers, and are already in the cellar in the fashion standings. Plus, I detest non-plural team nicknames! And San Jose is still wearing the dreaded black and teal that just about every major sports team that started up in the 90s wears. The original bad sports fashion trend.

* Finally, the Miami Heat wore all black last night. How fitting for the new villains of the sports world.

And now, all the standings....
(Notes: Any team not listed is 0-0. All NFL and NHL teams are currently wearing Reebok. I have yet to see any brand logos on MLB or NBA uniforms.)

MLB DIVISIONAL SERIES FASHION REVIEW
by Mr. Coloredwell, sports fashion critic for the Duck Pond

Boring! The only highlight was the San Francisco Giants in Game 3, wearing tasty orange jerseys with creamy white pants. Can you say creamsicles? Yummy!

All 4 series were sweeps, San Fran over Atlanta, Philly over Cincy, Yank-me's over Twins, and Tampa outdressed Texas despite losing the series.

Sorry I don't have more to say, but baseball unis are as boring as...well, baseball!

COLLEGE FOOTBALL FASHION REVIEW 2010 WEEK 6
by Mr. Coloredwell, sports fashion critic for The Duck Pond

TROY (Adidas) AT MIDDLE TENNESSEE (Nike)
Troy in white jerseys and maroon pants with white and silver stripes, but it's a metallic maroon so it's kind of shiny. MT in all black with blue numbers and blue pant spooge.
WINNER: TROY

UAB (Nike) AT UCF (Nike)
UAB in white jerseys with green numbers and gold spooge, and gold pants. UCF in black jerseys with white numbers and spooge, and gold pants. Both suck. I guess the green is nice.
WINNER: UAB

NEBRASKA (Adidas) AT KANSAS STATE (Nike)
Nebraska in white jerseys and red pants that are shiny under lights. K-State in purple jerseys and silver pants. Nobody does purple like K-State. This is a tough pick. Let's go with shiny.
WINNER: NEBRASKA

PRAIRIE VIEW A&M [FCS] (Russell) VS ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF [FCS] (Russell)
Finally, a black game in HD! It's a miracle! PVAM in all white with plenty of purple spooge. UAPB in all black with gold numbers, but no spooge. BTW, both teams' helmets horribly, hideously scuffed up.
WINNER: ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF

WINNER: RUTGERS

OKLAHOMA STATE (Nike) AT LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE (Russell)
OSU in white jerseys and orange pants with black spooge. L-L in all red with white spooge and ugly numbers. Cowboys need to lose the spooge, otherwise they do well looking like the BC Lions.
WINNER: OKLAHOMA STATE

INDIANA (Adidas) AT OHIO STATE (Nike)
White and red spoogefest vs the scarlet and grey. Not even close.
WINNER: OHIO STATE

ILLINOIS (Nike) AT PENN STATE (Nike)
Illini in all white with orange spooge, PSU in blue jerseys and white pants. Hooray for boring.

WINNER: ALABAMA

MICHIGAN STATE (Nike) AT MICHIGAN (Adidas)
MSU in all white with a little green spooge on the knees, those stupid eyelash numbers, and what looks like pewter on the shoulders. UM in blue jerseys and yellow pants, I need not mention the helmets, which normally are enough for a loss. But since MSU has gone to such extraordinary lengths to fuck up their unis, I think they deserve the dishonor of this first:
LOSER: MICHIGAN STATE

Pitt in white jerseys and dark blue pants with a nice gold/white stripe. ND in usual dark blue jerseys and gold pants.
WINNER: PITTSBURGH

WINNER: KENT STATE

CLEMSON (Nike) AT NORTH CAROLINA (Nike)

GOOD NEWS FOR FANS OF MR. COLOREDWELL...

...with the end of our NFL boycott, the start of the MLB playoffs and the NHL season, as well as the NBA starting up in a few weeks, Mr. C is about to kick things into overdrive, reviewing all that plus continuing his college football coverage. He might even throw in college hoops. I'd spin him off to his own blog, but I like having him on the team and holding down the fort here in the Pond.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL FASHION REVIEW 2010 WEEK 5
by Mr. Coloredwell, sports fashion critic for The Duck Pond

TEXAS A&M (Adidas) AT OKLAHOMA STATE (Nike)
Aggies in white jerseys and maroon pants with a thin crooked white line down the side. Cowboys in all black with white spooge and armpits, and not nearly enough orange trim. The squiggly line is weird but not spoogy.
WINNER: TEXAS A&M

BYU (Nike) AT UTAH STATE (Nike)
BYU in white jerseys and dark blue pants. USU in all blue with white spooge everywhere. This whole state sucks.
WINNER: BYU

NORTHWESTERN (Adidas) AT MINNESOTA (Nike)
NU in all white with purple and black trim. Gophers in maroon jerseys and yellow pants with maroon spooge.
WINNER: NORTHWESTERN

MIAMI FL (Nike) AT CLEMSON (Nike)
'Canes in white jerseys with dark green spogge and ugly numbers, and dark green pants with orange and white spooge. Clemson in all orange with purple and white trim, looking fabulous in the sun.
WINNER: CLEMSON

LOUISIANA-MONROE (Adidas) AT AUBURN (Under Armour)
ULM in all white with maroon spooge all over and ugly numbers. Just horrible. Auburn in blue jerseys, white pants and orange trim.
WINNER: AUBURN

KANSAS (Adidas) AT BAYLOR (Nike)
Kansas in white jerseys with goofy numbers and blue pants with a red stripe. Baylor in green jerseys with block numbers and gold pants with green spooge. A mixed-bag matchup all around. Baylor Bear-ly wins on color.
WINNER: BAYLOR

OHIO STATE (Nike) AT ILLINOIS (Nike)
No-brainer. OSU in white jerseys and grey pants. Illini in blue jerseys with orange pants and spooge. They do orange wrong.
WINNER: OHIO STATE

NAVY (Nike) AT AIR FORCE (Nike)
Navy in white jerseys and gold pants. Farce in blue jerseys and white pants, and some added red trim including a big splat of red on the front of the helmet. Supposed to be a nod to the Thunderbirds. Looks more like they flew into birds!
WINNER: NAVY

TENNESSEE (Adidas) AT LSU (Nike)
Vols in orange jerseys and white pants. LSU in white jerseys, yellow pants and purple trim. Orange Kool-Aid vs. grape lemonade. What a delicious matchup!
WINNER: TENNESSEE

WISCONSIN (Adidas) AT MICHIGAN STATE (Nike)
Badgers in all white with red trim. MSU in green jerseys and white pants. Ugh, that eyelash crap.
WINNER: WISCONSIN

MICHIGAN (Adidas) AT INDIANA (Adidas)
UM in white jerseys with yellow spooge and pants. Hoosiers in red jerseys and white pants. Ugh, I can't believe I have to type this again, but...
WINNER: INDIANA

VIRGINIA TECH (Nike) AT NC STATE (Adidas)
Well I'll be go to the market, VT is actually dressed well in HD for once! All white with purple numbers and purple/orange pant stripes. NC State...yes they're the devil, why do you think they're all red?
WINNER: VIRGINIA TECH

TEXAS (Nike) VS OKLAHOMA (Nike) at Dallas
Texas in all white with...I'm not even going to insult orange anymore by calling this a shade of orange, so let's call it puke-colored trim. OU in red jerseys and white pants, an easy win.
WINNER: OKLAHOMA

TCU (Nike) AT COLORADO STATE (Russell)
Frogs in all white with purple numbers. CSU in all dark green with gold spooge and goofy numbers.
WINNER: TCU

GEORGIA TECH (Russell) AT WAKE FOREST (Nike)
GT in all white with blue and gold spooge. WF in all black with gold and white spooge. GT's spooge is slightly less disgusting.
WINNER: GEORGIA TECH

FLORIDA (Nike) AT ALABAMA (Nike)
Gaytebows...er, Gators in white jerseys and blue pants. Tide in red jerseys and white pants. Maybe orange pants would have won? Instead...
WINNER: ALABAMA

NOTRE DAME (Adidas) AT BOSTON COLLEGE (Under Armour)
ND in white jerseys and gold pants. BC in red jerseys and gold pants, and one of the ugliest number fonts in the game.
WINNER: NOTRE DAME

PENN STATE (Nike) AT IOWA (Nike)
PSU in all white, Iowa in Steeler black and gold. Duh.
WINNER: IOWA

WASHINGTON (Nike) AT USC (Nike)
Huskies in all white, Trojans in maroon and gold. Color.
WINNER: USC

STANFORD (Nike) AT OREGON (Nike)
Stan in all white, Oregon in all green. Bile.
WINNER: STANFORD

Meanwhile, ESPN's policy of not showing black college games in HD continues. WHY?

COLLEGE FOOTBALL FASHION REVIEW 2010 WEEK 4
by Mr. Coloredwell, sports fashion critic for The Duck Pond

MIAMI FL (Nike) AT PITTSBURGH (Nike)
'Canes in white jerseys and orange pants with green and white spooge. Pitt in blue jerseys and gold pants. Miami does orange wrong.
WINNER: PITTSBURGH

TCU (Nike) AT SMU (Adidas)
FU. Anyhoo... Frogs in all white with purple numbers and helmets. 'Stangs in red jerseys and white pants, again looking like Patriots throwbacks. Nothing wrong with that.
WINNER: SMU

CENTRAL FLORIDA (Nike) AT KANSAS STATE (Nike)
UCF in white jerseys with gold pants, numbers and spooge. White/light gold a bad color combo, numbers are hard to read, and the spooge doesn't help. K-State in purple jerseys and silver pants. Purple/silver a great color combo, and they have it all to themselves. Why?
WINNER: KANSAS STATE

NORTH CAROLINA STATE (Adidas) AT GEORGIA TECH (Russell)
NC State in all white with red numbers. Yawn. GT in gold jerseys with white trim and dark blue numbers, and white pants with a gold stripe. GT makes white/light gold combo work with a dark 3rd color for the numbers. Hey UCF, it's called contrast!
WINNER: GEORGIA TECH

NORTHERN COLORADO [FCS] (New Balance) AT MICHIGAN STATE (Nike)
NC in all white with navy blue numbers, gold trim and helmets. MSU in green jerseys and white pants. Spartans, please pluck your eyelashes!
WINNER: NORTHERN COLORADO

BOWLING GREEN (Adidas) AT MICHIGAN (Adidas)
BG in all white with orange helmets and numbers and brown pant stripe. Number font is a little strange and there's a bit of brown spooge on the jersey, but they're playing UM (in their home blue), so Falcons get a gift.
WINNER: BOWLING GREEN

FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL (Adidas) AT MARYLAND (Under Armour)
FIU in all white with dark blue numbers and deformed pant stripe, and blue and gold spooge on the jersey. Terps in red jerseys and white pants, with black spooge from armpit to knee and hint of yellow trim. Terps have better looking numbers and a nice shade of red.
WINNER: MARYLAND

AUSTIN PEAY [FCS] (Nike) AT WISCONSIN (Adidas)
AP in white jerseys and bright red pants, numbers and helmets. A nice red, but the overall design has a cheap feel. Badgers in home red jerseys and white pants. Solid, clean, classic look. Badger badger badger badger mushroom mushroom SNAKE!
WINNER: WISCONSIN

EASTERN MICHIGAN (Adidas) AT OHIO STATE (Nike)
EMU in all white with green trim, a bit boring but no errors. Buckeyes in home scarlet jerseys and sparkling helmets are simply unbeatable.
WINNER: OHIO STATE

ALABAMA (Nike) AT ARKANSAS (Nike)
Tide in all white with crimson trim. Arkansas in red jerseys and white pants. Arky uni better than last year, but they need to lose the white armpits and the tacky 'Razorbacks' down the leg.
WINNER: ALABAMA

STANFORD (Nike) AT NOTRE DAME (Adidas)
Stan in all white with cardinal trim. Irish in blue jerseys and gold pants. No surprises in South Bend (except for that billboard). Color decides it. Besides Stan needs to pay for their 'blackout' last week.
WINNER: NOTRE DAME

FLORIDA A&M [FCS] (Russell) VS TENNESSEE STATE [FCS] (Adidas) at Atlanta
FAMU in all white with goofy green numbers and orange trim. Fugly numbers can ruin an entire uniform. TSU in blue jerseys with white block numbers and red trim, and white pants with some blue spooge. Numbers decide it.
WINNER: TENNESSEE STATE
BTW, kudos to Versus for airing this game in HD. I had to toss out the Grambling-Prairie View game. Why is it ESPN never airs black college games in HD? Hmm?? Anyone???

NORTH CAROLINA (Nike) AT RUTGERS (Nike)
Heels in all white with light blue helmets, numbers and trim. The Nevada-shaped spooge still bugs me, otherwise a great uni. Rutgers in scarlet jerseys and white pants. They do scarlet wrong, due to goofy numbers.
WINNER: NORTH CAROLINA

TEMPLE (Under Armour) AT PENN STATE (Nike)
Owls in all white with dark red helmets, numbers, and that annoying crosswalk down the leg. Lions in home blue. PSU uni strategy is simple: do nothing wrong by doing nothing, and get a win only because other team does something stupid like a crosswalk down their leg.
WINNER: PENN STATE

UAB (Nike) AT TENNESSEE (Adidas)
Blazers in white jerseys with gold sides and green numbers, and gold pants and helmets. Vols in the juicy orange jerseys with white pants. Oh so quenching! Can't beat the creamsicles.
WINNER: TENNESSEE

WAKE FOREST (Nike) AT FLORIDA STATE (Nike)
Wake in white jerseys and black pants and we can just stop right there and give this one to the red and gold.
WINNER: FLORIDA STATE

AIR FORCE (Nike) AT WYOMING (Nike)
Farce in all white with blue trim. Wyoming in brown jerseys, yellow pants, and white helmets and numbers. We'll just ignore the brown spooge on the pants, because this color scheme works for the Hawthorn Hawks, it worked for the Broncos throwbacks, and it works for the Cowboys.
WINNER: WYOMING

UCLA (Adidas) AT TEXAS (Nike)
Bruins in white jerseys with dark blue numbers and dark blue and gold trim, and shiny gold pants. Shorthorns in patchy, ugly shade of orange jerseys and white pants. Would prefer light blue instead of dark, but it sure beats Texas orange, which looks like Tennessee orange if it were left to soak in Swan Creek. A disturbing thought.
WINNER: UCLA

OKLAHOMA (Nike) AT CINCINNATI (Adidas)
Sooners in all white with red trim. Cinci...and we can just stop right there.
WINNER: OKLAHOMA

NEVADA (Nike) AT BYU (Nike)
Nevada in all white with dark blue spooge all over and ugly numbers. BYU in blue jerseys and white pants. They're just Penn State slightly gussied up.
WINNER: BYU

AKRON (Adidas) AT INDIANA (Adidas)
Zips in white jerseys with dark blue pants, spooge and ugly numbers. Hoosiers in red jerseys and white pants. Indy would be just fine if not for those huge blotches of spooge on their sides. But they steal another win thanks to an uglier opponent.
WINNER: INDIANA

KENTUCKY (Nike) AT FLORIDA (Nike)
KY (two of my favorite letters!) in all white with blue trim. Gay Tebows...er, I mean, Gators in blue jerseys and white pants, orange helmets and trim. No big mistakes. Color decides it.
WINNER: FLORIDA

SOUTH CAROLINA (Under Armour) AT AUBURN (Under Armour)
Gamecocks in all white with red and black trim including spooge. Auburn in blue jerseys, white pants and orange trim. The only uni Under Armour hasn't totally fucked up.
WINNER: AUBURN

OREGON STATE (Nike) AT BOISE STATE (Nike)
Beavers in all white, Broncos in all blue. The rest of the details don't matter because I cannot look at that barf-inducing blue rug another second.
WINNER: OREGON STATE

WEST VIRGINIA (Nike) AT LSU (Nike)
WVU in all dark blue with yellow spooge and ugly numbers. LSU in white jerseys, yellow pants and purple trim. Total mismatch.
WINNER: LSU

NORTHERN ILLINOIS (Adidas) AT MINNESOTA (Nike)
NIU in white jerseys with red numbers and black armpits, and black pants, Gophers in all maroon with yellow numbers and spooge. Both teams are putrid. NIU has better numbers and less spooge.
WINNER: NORTHERN ILLINOIS

OREGON (Nike) AT ARIZONA STATE (Nike)
...and we can just stop right there.
WINNER: ARIZONA STATE

BALL STATE (Nike) AT IOWA (Nike)
Hawkeyes in throwbacks! Game over! Black jerseys with Steeler gold block numbers, similar to Steelers throwbacks, but paired with gold pants and numbered helmets. Cards in all white with black spooge and...who cares? They got owned!
WINNER: IOWA

CENTRAL MICHIGAN (Adidas) AT NORTHWESTERN (Adidas)
Chips in all white with maroon spooge. NU in dark purple jerseys and black pants with white and purple stripes. What's this? Black pants that don't look like garbage? Go fig!
WINNER: NORTHWESTERN

TOLEDO (Under Armour) AT PURDUE (Nike)
Rockets in all white with disgusting numbers and blue and gold spooge. Purdue in all black. Toledo's new unis are the ugliest fuckin' things to come down the pike in years. Whoever designed these should be waterboarded...with AIDS-infected piss.
WINNER: PURDUE
